NASASPS General Purpose
The general purpose of NASASPS as stated in its bylaws is as follows:

1)   To further the understanding of occupational education programs by the education community, the lay public, concerned agencies, and organizations.

2)  To assist in planning professional programs, to act as a clearing-house for disseminating information, and to implement plans which will result in quality occupational education.

3)  To foster professional activities among supervisors and administrators in the states, provinces, territories and districts concerned with occupational education delivered through any method, including home study and distance education, by:

    (a)  Initiating studies concerning existing or emerging problem areas in the industry or regulatory provisions therefor,

    (b) Organizing workshops, conferences, and seminars for NASASPS members and other interested parties to update and upgrade their competencies.

    (c)  Acting as a spokesperson for the regulatory community as a whole.

    (d)  Serving as a liason to provide information requested by NASASPS members and other appropriate bodies.

4)  To stimulate and encourage professional relationships with other related agencies, organizations, and institutions concerned with vocational, trade, and technical education.
